Integrating Zotero with Overleaf
Overleaf's integration with Zotero allows you to import references from MyLibrary or Group Libraries but does not allow you to select specific folders or projects.
- Make sure that your Zotero Desktop account is synced with a Zotero online account (see How do I sync between my desktop and web accounts)
- In Overleaf, go to Account Settings and scroll down to Zotero Integration
- Click on the Link to Zotero button and, when prompted, log in to your Zotero online account
- You will be asked to create a New Private Key. Zotero automatically suggests the Key Description phrase 'overleaf'. Click on Accept Defaults to carry on and you will be redirected back to Overleaf.
- The Zotero Integration setting should now display as 'Account is linked'.
- To unlink the applications, click on Unlink Zotero.
The Zotero Integration feature is available to Imperial students and staff as part of the Overleaf Professional subscription. Ensure that your Overleaf account is linked to your Imperial email.
